A Work of Art

Romach und Haas Schone Aussicht Cuckoo Clock with 8 Day Movement

Combining the design of the earlier Rahmenuhr (Framed Clock) with the Bahnhusle (Railroad House), these clocks were very popular circa 1854. This clock takes the progression one step further by combining the beautiful, hand-painted Black Forest scene with the Chalet style. This intricate carving shows grape vines and leaves surrounding a Black Forest cottage with a pair of birds and their nest of eggs.

This particular clock is made in very small quantities entirely BY HAND. Each clock is painted individually by the artist Conny Haas deep in the Black Forest the same way it has been done for centuries. Owning this clock is your chance to take part in a long tradition of arts and crafts of the beautiful and mysterious Black Forest.

When the clock strikes the hour or half-hour the door opens, a cuckoo appears and calls along with the clocks gong strike.

This clock is hand made in the Black Forest in Germany. The mechanical brass movement is driven by two weights and time escapes with the tick of a traditional pendulum. The cuckoo call sound is made by two wooden whistles with bellows inside the clock case.

Contemporary Cuckoo Clocks

Expressions of Time has begun carrying cuckoo clocks from Sternreiter and Rombach und Haas.  Each offers the traditional carved cuckoo clock but Rombach und Haas also offers several contemporary designs.  At first glance, you'd never know these clock were cuckoo clocks.

Design meets Cuckoo

Combining stylistic cues from centuries-old clock making with modern design, this clock is a real treasure. It fits perfectly in a very traditional or very modern decor. This fine clock features an animated cuckoo bird which appears and calls the hour and half hour. The sound is mechanically created using wooden whistles and bellows.  This clock features a carved, wooden bird, shut-off switch and 2-year warranty.

This clock was made in the the Black Forest of Germany and is certified by the VDS.

This is a beautiful and lovingly crafted piece is part of a new series of art works by artists and designers of the Black Forest in Germany. The “ART CLOCKS” are each one-of-a-kind pieces, signed by the artist.
This particular piece was designed and painted by Selina Haas. Selina is a young artist, active in the burgeoning cultural scene of the Black Forest area, who is interested in a fresh and new approach to traditional forms. While the cuckoo clock is an icon of traditional home decoration, Ms. Haas’s work renews the concept utilizing organic and recognizable images.

Rombach und Haas Filigree Wall Clock

This unique clock was designed by the award-winning artist Conny Haas.
Combining stylistic cues from centuries-old clock making with modern design, this clock is a real treasure. This fine clock features an animated cuckoo bird which appears and calls the hour and half hour along with the sound of a rushing waterfall and other birds of the forest. The clock includes a quartz movement, fine woodcut filigree design; a shut-off switch; an automatic, night shut-off light sensor and a one-year warranty.

You no longer need a traditional decor to have a cuckoo clock.
